A Stockton-based seafood restaurant is opening in Elk Grove at the former site of Sizzler along Elk Grove Florin Road.

Captain Crab Boiling Seafood and Bar serves Louisiana-style Cajun food. It will likely begin serving lunch and dinner as early as this spring. This is the company’s third location with others in Stockton and Sacramento.

The restaurant bills itself as a casual, family-friendly place to have a meal. Captain Crab hopes to deliver a dining experience of contemporary seafood dishes at affordable prices.

On the boiling menu, customers can choose from several items, including blue crab, shrimp, snow crab legs, crawfish, clams, lobster tail, Dungeness and more. Once you select your seafood, you can pick from a variety of seasonings like Cajun, garlic butter, captain special and lemon pepper. Spice levels range from non-spicy to extra hot.

If you want to try something fried, there’s something for you too, including various basket dishes with fries. Fried shrimp, tilapia, catfish, oysters and even chicken is available in a basket meal.

For an appetizer, you can order hush puppies, fried cheese sticks, onion rings, calamari, wings, popcorn shrimp, fried mushrooms and more.

Family meal deals, signature combos and a variety of po boy sandwiches are also made to order.

Great bites and treats can be found all over Elk Grove. Captain Crab joins an impressive lineup of quality restaurants and unique shops here in Elk Grove.

From sushi, Korean BBQ, steak, pizza, Mexican and everything else in between, Elk Grove continues to build its reputation as a destination for all foodies.
