A new taproom is open for business in the historic part of Elk Grove. The 6,000-square-foot brick building has an industrial but chic interior and an additional 3,000 square feet of patio space for every gathering.

Dust Bowl, which is based out of Turlock, is located at the heart of Old Town on 9676 Railroad Street near the railroads and a short distance from the city’s newest open-air pavilion. Along with its headquarters, Dust Bowl has another taproom in Monterey. Elk Grove is the company’s third location.

More than 30 taps are available and Dust Bowl also serves incredible pub foods like gourmet burgers, tacos, artisan flatbreads and carnitas nachos, just to name a few of the offerings. Food is prepared by Wedo’s Kitchen.

Visitors also like the homey feel. You can lounge on Adirondack chairs, toss around bean bags for a game of cornhole and enjoy the warmth of the backyard fire pits.

Beer lovers will have a lot of choices, including blonde ale, hard seltzer, porter, lager, pilsner, IPA, stout, wheat beer and sour drinks. You can check out the details on the craft beer menu here.

The company’s first taproom opened more than a decade ago and expanded into a 30,000-square-foot facility and new brewery in 2016. Dust Bowl produces about 17,000 barrels of beer annually that’s sold in multiple states across the nation.

Dust Bowl is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

If you can’t make it for an in-person visit, you can also order beer to go. Kegs and growlers also available to go.
