If you live in Elk Grove, you never have to go far to find something fun to do. Here are a few fun, free and family-friendly events going on around town this month to fill your calendar up with.
Hot Summer Nights Concert Series, Every Friday: What’s better than cool music on a hot summer night? Not much! Groove to a different band and music genre every Friday at Laguna Town Hall’s outdoor amphitheater. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic and get ready for a fun night under the stars. See the concert lineup on the Cosumnes Park and Recreation District’s website.
First Saturday Art Reception, August 3: Local Sacramento artist and teacher Judge Sarma Karsiere will be treating the community to her beautiful works of art at the August Art Reception, hosted at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center. In addition to Karsiere’s display in the Main Gallery, community artists will have their art on display and for sale at this free event. If you can’t attend this month the Center hosts a reception on the first Saturday of every month.
Food Truck Mania, August 7: Every first Wednesday of the month, Elk Grove residents get a chance to sample the best that Sacramento’s food trucks have to offer. Bring your appetites and the whole family to Food Truck Mania at 9070 Elk Grove Blvd. The lineup changes monthly, but you can sneak a peek of what’s in store for your tastebuds on SactoMoFo’s website.
Multicultural Festival, August 24: Take a journey around the world at the annual Elk Grove Multicultural Festival. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about and celebrate various cultures through live music, customary dress, art displays and food. There will be two stages set up for music and dance performances throughout the event, which will be held at Elk Grove Regional Park and is free to the public.
There’s never a shortage of fun things to do locally, and that’s just one of the many reasons community members love to live here! If you’re ready to call Elk Grove “home,” get started with our guide to new homes in the area.
