David Smith and Jamie Dougherty are bringing their latest venture to Elk Grove, a German-inspired destination in Old Town Elk Grove that caters to every craft beer lover’s dream, known as Prost Beer Hall (9085 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624).

The couple, who also owns Old Town Pizza on Elk Grove-Florin Road and Pizzasaurus Rex in Midtown Sacramento, have been cooking up this project for years. Despite delays over the last several years, they are finally opening their dream beer hall.

In addition to the international flare, Prost Beer Hall also serves a variety of local beers, wines, classic cocktails and a delectable food menu.

Prost Beer Hall is located within a historic building. Guests will immediately notice how much effort has gone into preserving its original charm. They will also admire the updated, bright interiors and the exposed original brickwork. It feels like a cozy and inviting spot for beer enthusiasts.

The menu at Prost Beer Hall showcases German-inspired cuisine with some California influences. When you visit, you can indulge in dishes like the hot schnitzel sandwich or the sausage platter, along with classic German pretzels and other tempting treats, including, Jäger fries, croquettes and bitterballen. For main dishes, you’ll find jägerschnitzel (breaded chicken), Haus burger, sausage in bun, Kasespatzle and Sauerbraten (braised beef) among other dishes.

The extensive beer catalogue offers a pleasant selection of German-inspired and local craft beers.

Some of the special cocktails include the Haus mule, espresso martini, blood orange rising gin drink, bourbon sour and Jager Mai Tai and paloma.

Prost Beer Hall is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Sundays through Fridays, the weekly hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays, the business will stay open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
