Elk Grove prides itself on being a growing town with a flourishing business community. Elk Grove has a diverse industry that includes medical workers, state employees, tech workers, farmers, teachers, retirees, artists and entrepreneurs of every kind; new businesses are popping up every day. Plus, there is an amazing restaurant scene that is so diverse that you can eat just about any kind of food.

Lately, people have been raving about the local barbecue.

New to the Elk Grove business community are husband and wife, John and Shauna Pereira. They own and operate JP-B-QUE, a mobile food and catering company. They specialize in unique barbecue food experiences described as “a little piece of heaven in your mouth.” John Pereira has been perfecting the art of barbecue for over 24 years and is extremely passionate about creating dishes no one has ever made before.

JP-B-QUE slow-cooks many of its creations on a Big Green Egg or Lang 84 Deluxe with a Santa Maria Grill. Their Bacon-Ball dish is a crowd-pleaser. It’s made with a mix of ground beef and sausage meatballs, stuffed with either avocado and bacon, or a caprese mix of mozzarella, tomato and basil, all wrapped in perfectly crisped bacon. Another unique creation is their Breakfast Fatty, a blend of sausages stuffed with potatoes, peppers, onions, cheese and eggs – all wrapped in tasty bacon.

So, if you’re in the mood for some unique barbecue creations, or even some good ‘ole country cooking like, Tri-Tip, ribeye, bacon mac ‘n cheese, or even a cherry smoked pie, find him on Instagram, Facebook or JPbque.com. Also, on May 12, starting at 7 am, JP-B-QUE will be cooking up some heaven at Mel Dogs Cafe, a down-home breakfast spot at 9766 Waterman Rd, Ste B, Elk Grove, California 95624.

It is owned by husband and wife team, Matt and Ashley Clemons. They have quickly become the area’s go-to fabricator for just about any custom metal or steel product needed. For the last four years, they have been making amazing custom-fabricated art made from scrap metal and steel.

Some of their more popular creations include horseshoe Christmas trees, American-themed metal wall décor and decorative metal mantle pieces.
