Residents in Elk Grove have access to state-of-the-art medical services and providers, including Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter, UC Davis and Elk Grove Urgent Care.

Now, UC Davis Health plans to further expand medical services and offer additional primary care and specialty care in the city, as part of a larger blueprint for an enhanced regional health care system.

UC Davis Health recently purchased about 20 acres of land at the corner of Elk Grove Boulevard and Laguna Springs Drive, where it will develop and provide world-class health care services in the near future.

As a nationally ranked patient care health provider and the region’s only academic medical center, UC Davis Health hopes to lead by expanding Elk Grove’s access to medical experts and the latest medical tech. The medical footprint of UC Davis Health in California is substantial, reaching more than half of the state’s counties. It also operates more than a dozen neighborhood clinics in the greater Sacramento area, aligning with the hospital’s commitment to accessible and quality health care for everyone.

By 2029, Elk Grove will be home to more than 200,000 people. As the population expands, more medical services will be needed. In anticipation of growth, UC Davis Health aims to expand outpatient services and support a thriving and vibrant Elk Grove population.

City leaders also envision economic benefits, including high-paying jobs and opportunities for new partnerships, as a result of the hospital’s decision to expand in Elk Grove.

Recognizing the growing needs of Elk Grove, UC Davis Health is also working collaboratively with city planners to mitigate impacts to traffic, parking and surrounding development.

The new Elk Grove health complex will follow University of California Sustainable Practices Policy to ensure energy efficiency, water conservation and waste reduction.
